Job Description

Position Summary:

HeliService USAis seeking a skilled and safety-focused Captain to join our team in Norfolk, Virginia. This position involves conducting IFR operations, crew transfer flights, and precision hoist missions with the AW-169 helicopter. We are looking for a motivated professional who thrives in a dynamic offshore environment and is committed to operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct IFR operations in compliance with 14 CFR Part 135 regulations.
  • Perform offshore crew transfer flights safely and efficiently.
  • Execute hoisting missions in both onshore and offshore environments, adhering to company SOPs and safety protocols.
  • Ensure operational readiness, including pre-flight and post-flight inspections, mission planning, and risk assessments.
  • Serve as Pilot-in-Command (PIC), promoting Crew Resource Management (CRM) practices.
  • Maintain strict compliance with HeliService USA policies, FAA regulations, and Safety Management Systems (SMS).

Qualifications:

  • Licenses and Certifications :
  1. FAA ATP or Commercial Rotorcraft-Helicopter Certificate.
  2. FAA First Class Medical Certificate.

Flight Experience:

  1. Minimum of 2,000 total flight hours.
  2. 1,500 hours of rotorcraft PIC time.
  3. 500 hours of multi-engine helicopter time.
  4. 200 hours of night flight operations.
  5. Proven experience in IFR operations.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Hoist operation experience preferred.
  2. Offshore and crew transfer flight experience preferred.
  3. Familiarity with AW-169 systems and limitations.
  4. Strong knowledge of risk management, SMS, and FAA regulations.

Training/Specific Activities Required:

  • Complete annual training as required by company policy and law on an annual basis in a timely manner.
  • Read all newsletters and bulletins to remain current on policies, procedures, and developments as well as to meet all company compliance standards. 
  • Employment at HeliService USA is contingent on successful completion of training and release to the line by the Director of Operations or Chief Pilot at the completion of the required line training period.
  • Pre-employment drug screening must be completed and approved in accordance with DOT/FAA regulations prior to hire.

Work Modality:  In person

Possible Work Hazards:  Exposure to loud noises, aviation related chemicals, and frequently moving objects at a high velocity.

Physical Demands:  Sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing, and pulling, keyboarding, speaking. Additional physical demands may be required.

Benefits:

This position is eligible for company benefits and 401(K) retirement enrollment after the standard waiting period. Paid time off (PTO) is awarded on an accrual basis. For a 7/7 schedule, it's 10 days per calendar year.
