Mission Economic Development Agency
Rooted in the Mission and focused on San Francisco, MEDA’s mission is to strengthen low and moderate-income Latino families by promoting economic equity and social justice through asset building and community development. MEDA is advancing strategies to create asset-building opportunities for San Francisco’s Latino families and in the Mission District through: (1) our core, integrated Asset Building Programs related to housing, financial capability, workforce development, business development, and tax preparation; (2) serving as a backbone agency to advance educational achievement and family economic success through the Mission Promise Neighborhood2-generation approach; (3) creating and preserving affordable housing and commercial real estate in the Mission District through Community Real Estate; (4) providing access to capital and innovative financial products through Fondo Adelante; and (5) Policy & Advocacy efforts that support our mission.
MEDA is growing our leadership team with the addition of a Chief Program Officer (CPO). Reporting to the CEO, the CPO will oversee MEDA’s client-serving programs, including its Family Economic Success programs, Mission Promise Neighborhood – School Based and Family Support Services, and Fondo Adelante – our CDFI and Business Development initiative. Leaders of each of these areas of work will report to the CPO. The CPO will work across these departments and with MEDA’s Chief Strategy Officer, Community Real Estate Development team, and administrative functions to ensure an integrated and coordinated approach to MEDA’s strategies. The CPO will be a key member of MEDA’s Executive Team and be responsible for driving innovation, program integration, and supporting high-performing staff and programs. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader with a strong racial equity lens and lived experience in the Latino community. This leader will have the ability to connect big-picture strategies with implementation details to guide our teams toward meaningful results for our community. MEDA’s CPO will be an excellent communicator, skilled in strategic and programmatic planning, a strong team builder, and savvy with sustainability planning and fundraising.
