Job Description

The Custodian is responsible for the care, upkeep, and cleaning of assigned areas, residential rooms, and the surrounding areas. Must hold a Top Secret clearance. **Responsibilities** + Responsible for cleanliness in all areas of responsibility. + Use cleaning equipment, including automatic floor machines, commercial vacuums, wet mops, large wringers and other necessary equipment, tools, chemicals, and supplies. + Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, stairways, and other work areas so that health standards are met. Clean and maintain supplies in restrooms. + Sweep, vacuum, mop, wax, and polish floors. Dust and polish furniture, woodwork, fixtures, and equipment. + Perform special cleaning of induction units, walls, lighting fixtures, and windows, both inside and outside, move furniture and set up meeting rooms. + Provide linen removal, cleaning, and exchange. + Remove trash from premises and assist in cleaning emergency spills that are observed or as requested. + Maintain assigned equipment and supplies for cleanliness and request repairs when needed **Minimum Knowledge** - High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. - Previous custodial experience preferred. - Additional experience/education may be required by contract or assignment. - Knowledge of cleaning supplies, techniques, and the safe handling of cleaning supplier. - Skilled in cleaning rooms, bathrooms, furniture, equipment, sweep, mop, dust and arrange room to set standard. - Ability to perform semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance of building and related facilities. - Additional knowledge/skills may be required by assignment. **Work Environment** - Ability to perform some heavy lifting. - Living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable. - Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions. - Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.
