Position Description

Refuel Operating Company

The Facilities Maintenance Technician maintains the day-to-day operations and to assume responsibility for maintaining all equipment including HVAC, cooking equipment, coolers, etc. in Refuel Operating Company. This job was established for the purpose/s of providing services with specific responsibility for identifying repair and/or replacement needs, installing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading all equipment, assisting other skilled trades; and ensuring that tools and materials are available while working at locations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the completion of all maintenance services requests as assigned.
  • Diagnose causes of problems and/or failures in heating/air conditioning systems, cooking, and other store equipment to identify equipment and/or systems repair and/or replacement needs.
  • Fabricates equipment parts to meet specialty needs and/or replace unavailable parts.
  • Informs personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders to provide information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and /or complying with building and safety regulations.
  • Inspects HVAC and cooler systems and their components (e.g. heating units, building exhaust fans, ventilation units, etc.) to evaluate condition, identifying necessary repairs and recommending preventative maintenance.
  • Installs heating and air conditioning equipment to provide enhanced and/or upgraded capabilities.
  • Maintains vehicle, tools, and equipment to ensure availability in safe operating condition
  • Participates in meetings, workshops, training, and seminars as assigned to convey and/or gather information required to perform job functions.
  • Performs routine and preventative maintenance as needed to ensure the ongoing functioning of all store equipment.
  • Prepare written materials (e.g. repair status, activity logs, etc.) to document activities and/or convey information.
  • Repairs heating, air conditioning, coolers, stoves, ovens, steam tables, and other systems and/or components (e.g. pumps, motors, air handlers, fan coils, piping, etc.) to ensure a comfortable and safe work environment.
  • Requests equipment and supplies to maintain inventory and ensurie availability of items required to complete the necessary installation and/or repair.
  • Responsible for minor plumbing in stores.
  • Transports a variety of tools, equipment and supplies to ensure the availability of materials required at the job site
  • Work within established expense limits.
  • Maintain inventory controls for cost-effective operations.
  • Schedule and complete the “Preventative Maintenance Program”.
  • Responsible for 24-hour emergency maintenance service as scheduled
  • Carry cell phone as required for on-call maintenance
  • Monitor and maintain all locations as assigned.
  • Responsible for alerting the stores' Area Manager of any unusual occurrence and/or damage that has taken place or that may occur.
  • Maintain a professional, courteous manner with all vendors, contractors, and fellow employees.
  • Assure safety standards are used that comply with all company, local, city, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance of all work-related activities in a fair, ethical, and consistent manner.
  • Follow established company policies and those outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • This job requires exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and or 10/20 pounds of force constantly.

Working conditions and physical requirements:

  • Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Exposure to characteristic construction site dangers.

Travel: Must be able to travel up to 80%.
