The University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine and Division of Infectious Diseases invites applications for two full-time Infectious Diseases physicians. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of our growing infectious disease program, help shape the future of medical education and clinical care at a new School of Medicine, and address the critical healthcare needs of East Texas.
We are seeking highly motivated and collaborative individuals to join our growing team. These specialist positions will serve the Tyler community and provide both inpatient and outpatient consultative services at UT Health Tyler (400+ inpatient beds). Based on interest, candidates will also have the opportunity to develop one or more programs in the following areas: clinical operations, outpatient parenteral antibiotic therapy, infection prevention and control, antibiotic stewardship, HIV medicine, telehealth, medical education/training of medical students, residents and fellows, NTM clinic and TB public health.
A faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor will be appointed to the successful applicant commensurate with their professional experience and qualifications.

The school offers a robust Graduate Medical Education program, with 20 residency and fellowship training programs, enabling graduates to gain specialized skills in areas such as family medicine, internal medicine, neurology, psychiatry, surgery, and anesthesia. Additionally, UT Tyler’s Master of Biotechnology program provides students with an interdisciplinary curriculum that emphasizes medical research and biotechnology innovation, preparing them for careers in medical research, diagnostics and therapeutic development.
Construction is currently underway on a five-story, 248,000-square-foot Medical Education Building (MEB) in Tyler’s Midtown District. Connected by a skybridge to UT Health Tyler, the MEB will support interdisciplinary education for medical students and resident training. It will also aid as part of a medical education program expansion throughout the UT Health East Texas Health System. The building is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2025.
