The Role

We are seeking a Founding CTO to join as a true partner. This is a hands-on builder role where you will architect and develop the underwriting engine and consumer-facing platform while helping set product strategy, working with investors, and scaling the technical team. You should be just as comfortable shipping code as you are shaping boardroom strategy.

What You’ll Do

• Build & Architect : Lead development of our automated underwriting engine and lending platform, with Python as the core foundation.

• Hands-on Development : Write production-level code—you’ll be the most technically skilled person in the room early on.

• Product Development : Partner with business leadership to design and launch consumer-facing apps and SMB financial tools.

• Fundraising & Investor Relations : Leverage your experience supporting $10M+ raises to partner with the CEO in securing and managing capital.

• Team Growth : Hire and mentor engineers and product talent as we scale from ~12 to 20+.

• Strategy & Execution : Translate a massive market opportunity into a scalable, secure technical vision.

What We’re Looking For

• Python Expert : Deep hands-on experience building production systems in Python (Django, Flask, or FastAPI).

• FinTech Experience : Background in consumer finance, small-business lending, or real estate finance.

• Underwriting Systems : Familiarity with automated underwriting, credit modeling, and risk scoring.

• Startup Leadership : Proven track record as an early engineer, CTO, or technical founder in a high-growth startup.

• Capital Raising : Has directly supported or led fundraising efforts of at least $10M.

• Product Launch : Experience bringing new products to market in regulated or finance-adjacent spaces.

• Investor-Ready : Skilled at working directly with investors, boards, and external stakeholders.

• Culture Builder : Ability to create and sustain a high-performance engineering and product culture.

Current / Recommended Tech Stack

• Backend: Python (Django / Flask / FastAPI)

• Front-end: React (or similar modern JS framework)

• Data / Underwriting Models: Python ML/AI libraries (Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow for credit modeling & risk)

• Database: PostgreSQL (primary), Redis (caching)

• Infrastructure: AWS / GCP (cloud-native, containerized with Docker/Kubernetes)

• APIs: REST & GraphQL microservices, third-party integrations (credit, KYC/AML, financial data providers)

• Compliance & Security: CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, SOC2/PCI-ready frameworks
