Key Accountabilities:
  • Develop and execute detailed project timelines for startup activities, inspections, licensing, and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate with vendors, regulatory agencies, and staff to ensure milestones are met.
  • Oversee equipment installation, staff onboarding, and operational procedures.
  • Maintain strict adherence to Nebraska funeral industry regulations and licensing requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project updates and stakeholder communication.
  • Support staff training, community outreach, and operational planning during startup phases.
  • Be available on-call during critical phases, with increased hours as the project progresses
Minimum Requirements:
  • State of Nebraska Funeral Director license
  • Proven experience in funeral service management, operations, or leadership.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of funeral industry regulations and licensing processes.
  • Collaborative team player with a passion for community service.
  • Self-starter able to work independently and adapt in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn about the project or product being developed.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Physical Demands
  • Environment - Work is both indoors and outdoors during all seasons and weather
  • Attire - professional business attire required when in contact with families
  • Postures – Frequent continuous period of time sitting or standing up to 6 hours per day; frequently climbing stairs to access buildings.
  • Physical Demands – Physical effort requiring manual dexterity is required, includes paperwork, calculators, computers and phone usage.
  • Ability to push and pull up to 150 pounds on flat and inclined flooring or ramp.
