We are seeking an experienced Trauma Surgery Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join a dynamic trauma team at a Level I Trauma Center in Neptune City, NJ. This inpatient locums opportunity includes coverage for both pediatric and adult trauma patients with occasional time in the OR.
Assignment Details:
Setting: Inpatient – Trauma Surgery
Coverage: Pediatrics and occasional OR
Facility Type: Level I Trauma Center (Pediatric & Adult)
Schedule:
3 shifts/week
12.5-hour shifts
Mix of day and night shifts
60% nights / 40% days
Must be flexible to work rotating shifts (e.g., day shift followed by a night shift)
Patient Load & Procedures:
Daily Patient Volume: 10–25 patients
Common Procedures:
Central line placement
Arterial line placement
Chest tube insertion
Simple and intermediate wound repairs
Requirements:
Active New Jersey License
Up-to-date CDS and DEA
Certifications:
ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
Experience:
Trauma Surgery, Critical Care, or Emergency Medicine background required
ICU experience preferred
Previous trauma or critical care APP experience strongly preferred
