Job Title: Manufacturing EngineerJob Description Join a dynamic team at our Lansing site, specializing in OEM assembly and composite bonding. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will collaborate closely with another engineer, primarily engaging in hands-on activities on the plant floor. Your focus will be on troubleshooting equipment, analyzing defects and data, and implementing corrective actions. You will also assist in writing work instructions, supporting day-to-day operations, and driving lean values and continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities + Plan sequences of operations, estimate time requirements, and write process sheets and bill of materials. + Determine manufacturing methods and processes necessary for the fabrication and assembly of complex products from part drawings and other engineering data. + Investigate, establish, and implement requirements for equipment, tooling, and material, including make-or-buy decisions and facility layout for new or revised products. + Investigate and troubleshoot manufacturing problems. + Provide technical support to operations. + Consult with design or project engineering regarding the suitability or producibility of complex molds, fixtures, or parts. Essential Skills + Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or another Engineering field. + US Citizenship. + 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment. + Experience in troubleshooting. + Experience in root cause analysis and corrective action. + Familiarity with CAD software. + Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Kaizen, and continuous improvement methods. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience interpreting manufacturing drawings and 3D models. + Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles. + Experience with continuous improvement programs such as ACE or 6s. Work Environment The position involves working a 3rd shift from 10pm to 6am. The plant environment is part of a large organization with a global workforce of 200,000 employees across 70 countries. The role offers a 1-2 year contract with potential for direct employment based on headcount approval. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Holt, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $48.07 - $64.90/hr.
