Looking for an Ocean Export Manager to join a solid, thriving NVOCC/freight forwarder in Torrance. You'll be working with a leader in the industry.

Responsibilities Include:
Manage small team processing FCL and LCL exports.
Delegate work and projects in balanced manner.
Review and update detailed SOPs for proper handling.
Audit documentation for completion and accuracy.
Comply with all legal requirements for origin and destination, including AES, Customs, FDA, USDA, FMC, hazmat paperwork, licenses, etc.
Review department finances for profitability.
Assist with customer service, quotes, and escalation.
Negotiate with carriers to procure competitive rates.
Provide guidance, training and mentorship to team.
Monitor department performance to ensure growth.
Understand market forces and recommend ways to enhance services.
Main Requirements:
Appx. 5 years in ocean export freight forwarding, with minimum 3 years in management.
Hands-on experience with FCL and LCL consol cargo.
Must be proficient in CargoWise.
Ability to foster productive relationships with business partners.
Understanding of best routes, transit times, shipper needs, and destination requirements.
Understanding of export documents, including bills of lading, certificates of origin, licenses, invoices, etc.
Comfortable interpreting rates and service contracts.
Computer savvy - able to pull reports and analyze data.
Positive and resourceful, with a passion for logistics.
