Job Description

Burk Agency is a family-operated independent insurance agency seeking a remote Life Insurance Agent to advise middle-income families, individuals, and business owners on life and retirement solutions. This commission-based role offers flexible scheduling, a portable business model, comprehensive training, and dedicated sales support.

Role overview

  • Fully remote sales position focused on delivering life insurance and retirement solutions via phone, video conferencing, or in-person meetings when appropriate.
  • Flexible part-time or full-time scheduling to support varied availability and mobility.
  • Structured onboarding, ongoing training, and mentorship to support new and experienced agents.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a client base by protecting families with life insurance.
  • Conduct needs assessments and present tailored life insurance and retirement solutions clearly and professionally.
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships through education, follow-up, and high-quality service.
  • Schedule and conduct client meetings by phone or video, and meet in person when appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions in the agency CRM and ensure compliance with regulatory and carrier requirements.
  • Participate in required training, weekly live coaching sessions, and team meetings to maintain product knowledge and sales skills.
  • Manage personal schedule, performance goals, and adherence to agency standards and ethical practices.

Qualifications

  • Current life and health insurance license issued by the applicant’s home state, or willingness and ability to obtain required licensing (guidance provided).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with empathy and professionalism in client interactions.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage a remote schedule and business activities independently.
  • Comfort with technology, including CRM systems, video conferencing (Zoom), email, and standard office software; training provided.
  • High school diploma or equivalent and a valid U.S. driver’s license.
  • Coachable, teachable, and committed to professional growth and client advocacy.

Compensation and benefits

  • 100% commission-based compensation with uncapped earning potential.
  • Typical earnings (examples): part-time new agents approximately $4,000–$6,000 per month; experienced full-time agents commonly $14,000–$18,000 per month.
  • Raise eligibility beginning in the first month with incremental increases tied to performance benchmarks.
  • Health and dental benefit options, agency and carrier bonuses, recognition programs, and all-expenses-paid incentive trips for top performers.
  • Flexible scheduling options and a supportive, family-oriented agency culture with ongoing mentorship.

Additional information

  • Business model supports portability for relocations and remote work; representatives must comply with state regulatory and carrier contracting requirements.
  • No cold calling—leads are generated through agency marketing and outreach.
  • This opportunity suits individuals seeking a purpose-driven, flexible career in a collaborative environment.

If you are ready to transform your purpose into profit and your legacy into a lifestyle, we look forward to meeting you.

If you are a self-motivated, results-driven sales professional looking for a commission-only position with unlimited earning potential, we want to hear from you. Please submit your resume and cover letter to apply for this position.
