Skillsoft is seeking a Senior Finance Analyst to oversee and enhance all facets of financial reporting, including accrual calculations, adjustments, and month-end reconciliations. If you are a highly analytical and detail-oriented individual with extensive experience in finance, this may be the role for you! The ideal candidate will bring innovative ideas to optimize processes and possess a substantial background in financial reporting and sales compensation. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Lead the calculation of monthly and quarterly accruals, ensuring precision and consistency
• Review and adjust accruals based on updated financial data and insights
• Conduct comprehensive month-end reconciliations to guarantee accuracy in financial reporting
• Interpret and analyze commission data to ensure timely and accurate payments
• Collaborate with the finance team to align reporting strategies with overarching financial objectives
• Prepare and deliver detailed financial reports on metrics and performance 
• Develop, maintain, and refine financial reporting structures and policies to enhance efficiency
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and internal policies, proactively addressing potential issues
• Provide strategic insights and recommendations to improve financial reporting processes and systems
• Ensure compliance with sales compensation policies and SOX requirements and maintain supporting documents 
• Partner with cross-functional teams regularly to build constructive relationship and drive continuous cross-functional process improvement 
• Participate in User Acceptance Test for system plan implementation and updates 
• Provide support for any ad hoc business requirements 

Required Skills and Qualifications 

• 4+ years of progressive experience in finance, financial reporting, sales compensation, or a related role with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
• Experience in a high-growth, sales-driven organization
• Solid knowledge and experience with accrual accounting and financial reconciliation processes
• Hands-on experience with commission calculations
• Advanced Excel proficiency, as well as, financial software and analytical tools, such as ERP systems, and financial databases
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
• Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to manage large datasets effectively
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Track record of providing innovative solutions and driving process improvements
