Job Description

LaSalle Network is hiring a Senior Tax Manager for a large private manufacturing client with a headquarters in the Loop. 

As the Tax Senior Manager , you’ll be a strategic force behind their financial integrity, oversee global tax planning, manage their North American sales & use tax, assist in M&A onboarding, and manage global tax compliance. 

Budget for this role is up to a base of $170,000 with additional bonus. This role will be located in the Loop with a 3x a week in office schedule. 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage outside tax preparers to ensure high quality while keeping fees low.
• Oversee the annual US income tax return process, including taxable income calculations and timelines.
• Support the VP of Tax and Finance teams in identifying and implementing global tax planning strategies.
• Prepare and review quarterly and annual tax provisions; ensure timely and accurate global tax reporting.
• Help manage global tax compliance by coordinating with consultants and local Finance teams.
• Oversee North American sales and use tax processes, including using Avalara to reduce risk.
• Support the VP of Tax in designing future US sales tax processes.
• Supervise the Tax Analyst to ensure accurate and timely filing of sales and use tax, property tax, gross receipts tax, and manage tax exemptions with the Credit team.
• Manage tax audits and negotiate positive outcomes.
• Develop and maintain internal control processes and procedures to meet or exceed requirements.
• Support the VP of Tax with M&A activities and onboarding new companies to ensure compliance.
• Continuously review processes for improvements and efficiency gains.

Qualified Professionals Will Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and CPA or MST required (both preferred).
• 10+ years of increasingly analytical tax experience (public accounting experience a plus).
• Proven leadership and ability to develop teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong technical tax skills and a drive to streamline processes and deliver high-quality results.
• Knowledge of US federal, state income, international, and transaction taxes.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally and with external partners.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement and internal service.
