We are hiring for a Supervisor of SQL/ETL Development that will be responsible for managing a team of resources that will be designing and building applications primarily in SQL Server and Azure. The development will involve everything from front-end applications to database development to middle-tier services.

This position will lead a dynamic team that is dedicated to delivering applications and processes for high-quality, on-time software releases, leveraging best-of-breed agile and DevOps practices with a focus on how to enable the operations of those applications through a combination of infrastructure solutioning, continuous delivery & integration, and efficient system sustainment planning.

This role is responsible for working with the Line of Business and the VP of Engineering to determine priorities, capacity, and velocity within our Agile Sprint planning methodology. They will also be considered a technical expert and general business SME for the database development team.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

  • Manage and lead both on-shore and off-shore developers
  • Designs, analyzes code, optimizes, and maintains Microsoft SQL Server databases, tables, stored procedures, indexes, triggers, data extraction, transformation, and validation.
  • The ability to develop SSIS packages to address complex business needs as well as troubleshoot and maintain existing SSIS packages
  • The ability to develop ADF pipelines to address complex business needs as well as troubleshoot and maintain existing ADF pipelines
  • Support the refactoring and re-architecting of existing software
  • Lead developers to identify and create common reusable packages and procedures.
  • Drive technical consolidation and reduction of duplicate effort across projects
  • The candidate should have a strong understanding of agile software development and how that impacts the operations of software; and must participate in strategy discussion with all levels of management and business sponsors
  • Work closely with the VP of Engineering to understand the technology roadmap and assist in enforcing the enterprise architecture standards
  • Support testing & deployment cycles, including working with project managers to coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) and gathering feedback from pre-release testers.
  • Ability to log, track, and manage issues, bugs, and enhancement/ features requests logged in Azure DevOps (ADO).
  • Participate in software release and post-release activities
  • Capture, mitigate and /or escalate risks & issues that the development team may face in a timely fashion
  • Ensure development standards and consistency of specifications across sub-systems
  • Write and/or review deliverables, solution blueprints, and architecture documentation

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years in a team leadership position
  • 5-10 years in SQL Server, database design, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
  • 5-10 years in SQL Server/ETL Development:
    • T-SQL
    • SSIS
    • ADF
    • SSRS
  • Deployment of .NET apps to IIS and/or Azure App Service
  • Deployment of pipelines to Azure Data Factories (ADF)
  • Azure DevOps or similar and Git knowledge (required)
  • Experience with Azure SQL databases is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Azure Postgres databases is a plus
  • Proven hands-on experience developing and executing test procedures for software components
  • Familiarity with Agile Environments, SCRUM, Kanban etc.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional team to ensure understanding of all requirements
  • Able to work quickly and efficiently with a strong focus on achieving tasks
  • Experience in mortgage technology (preferred)
  • Experience with both relational and non-relational database systems
