Surgical Technology Instructor

Full-time | $50,000–$62,000 annually

What You’ll Do

• Teach and mentor secondary (dual-enrolled) and post-secondary students in Surgical Technology.
• Lead and manage the CTE curriculum, ensuring alignment with district, state, and college standards.
• Create a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment.
• Oversee student testing, skill assessments, and program evaluations.
• Use industry trends, employer feedback, and performance data to strengthen instruction.
• Support student organizations such as SkillsUSA or HOSA.
• Collaborate with staff, administration, and community partners to build a high-performing program.
• Participate in accreditation activities, program advisory meetings, and college events.
• Maintain equipment, classrooms, records, and program materials.
• Represent the program in the community and support college recruitment and student success initiatives.

What Makes You a Strong Fit

• Bachelor’s degree + 1 year of experience OR Associate degree + 2 years OR High School/GED + 3 years in the CTE field.
• Certified (or certifiable) as a CTE instructor in the appropriate subject area, or eligible for state certification.
• National or state-recognized Surgical Technology certification approved by the Florida Department of Education.
• Strong communication skills, organization, and the ability to manage groups effectively.
• Motivational, student-centered approach to teaching.
• Solid understanding of Surgical Technology equipment, procedures, and best practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to dynamic instructional needs.
