Job Description

General Summary

The Visual Merchandiser is responsible for creating visual displays within the store of new and existing products and providing a pleasant shopping experience for customers. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Visual Merchandising

• Define, design and implement a creative visual merchandising strategy.
• Create appealing and eye-catching visual displays that lead the customer through the entire store.
• Produce end cap displays, aisle displays, interior displays, exterior displays, and special promotions displays.
• Identify key messages and set a clear image of the end result.
• Come up with, revise and present design ideas with General Manager and/or Home & Gift Lead Buyer.
• Monitor costs and work within budget.
• Oversee the production and brief staff on arranging displays.
• Change displays to promote new product launches and reflect festive or seasonal themes.
• Keep merchandise stocked, fronted and faced, and dusted. 
• Update promotional sign packages as needed. 
• Perform all other duties as assigned. 

Customer Service

• Project a positive representation.
• Greet customers entering and throughout the store. Thank customers by name, when possible, when they are leaving the store.
• Project a friendly, outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates.
• Clear customer checkout lines quickly and efficiently.
• Answer and monitor all calls and pages promptly, courteously and effectively.
• Communicate any problem or issue that requires management assistance.
• Continually build product knowledge base and possess the ability to assist customers with store layout and product location.
• Assist in pricing, stocking, marking and bagging of merchandise.

Requirements

• Proven work experience as a Visual Merchandiser or Visual Manager.
• Demonstrable visual design skills with a strong retail merchandising portfolio.
• Solid experience in field visual merchandising, including interior/exterior displays and space utilization.
• Knowledge of current visual merchandising trends and best practices.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Creative and innovative thinker.
• Ability to analyze sales merchandising reports and survey results.

Time Commitment Options - Full Time or Part Time Available!

Part Time Requires one of the following:

• Work both Saturday and Sunday – 16 hours OR
• Work (5) 4 hour weekday afternoon/evening shifts – 20 hours

Overtime is paid on more than 8 hours in a day
