Senior Property Accountant

Position Overview:
The Senior Property Accountant will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of property accounting for a portfolio of commercial properties. This includes financial reporting, accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, journal entries, and compliance with tax and financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Enter and code invoices into Yardi, manage AP workflows, and process vendor payments.
Handle AR functions including tenant billing, rent collections, deposits, and CAM reconciliations.
Perform daily bank activity booking and complete monthly bank reconciliations.
Record journal entries for mortgage accruals, taxes, insurance, and other expenses.
Support audits, reconciliations, and tax compliance (property, sales, and related filings).
Collaborate with property managers, controllers, and ownership to resolve discrepancies and deliver accurate reporting.
Maintain organized records for audits and reporting purposes.
Provide basic financial analysis and reporting as requested.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
4+ years of accounting experience, required in commercial real estate.
Minimum 3 years of Yardi experience.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and real estate accounting practices.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Attention to detail with ability to manage multiple priorities.
Capable of working both independently and within a team.
